Nathaniel Givner

Nathaniel Givner passed away on October 12, 2021.

Nat is survived by his beloved Alicia Rangel, and his children Steven (Kimber) Givner, Eric (Laura) Givner, and Debra (Trey) Schillie. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren–Kaia and Kayley Givner, Jacob and Dylan Givner, and Sam, Grace, and Kate Schillie–as well as his dearly-loved sister, Harriet Rossow.

Nat was born on June 19, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois, to Dr. David and June Givner and was raised in Wichita, Kansas. Nathaniel received a B.A. degree from Washington University, an M.A. from Southern Methodist University, and his Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from University of Nebraska. He then moved to Omaha, Nebraska, where he spent his professional career working at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and Boys Town before retiring to Scottsdale, Arizona. His interests were sports (especially Nebraska Cornhusker football), fishing, Jewish history, tending to his cactus and learning about the history of the Southwest, his home of the last 20 years.
