It started with “Rudolph’s Nose Trouble”. As a kindergartener in Chicago, Bruce Halperin starred in his first drama as a REINDEER! Some years later that led to a Master’s Degree in Theater from The University of Arizona.
Realizing the actor’s dream to go to New York, Bruce headed for Manhattan. He remained in New York for twenty-five years in the New York Theatre scene where he was active in acting, writing, producing, and directing. His credits range from Children’s Theatre to Shakespeare and the classics. In the Valley, Mr. Halperin has worked with the Arizona Jewish Theatre Company: Copperstate Dinner Theatre Company; Theatre Works; Stagebrush Theatre; Desert Foothills Theatre; Fountain Hills Theatre; The Algonquin Theatre Company and the newly formed TheatreScape Company. Mr. Halperin is a member of Screen Actors Guild and The American Federation of Television and Radio Artists and served on the Board of AFTRA for three years.
He was a walking encyclopedia of all things Broadway. He appeared in many productions out here in Arizona and won several “Zonies” (Arizona’s version of the Tony’s). Mr. Halperin has been employed as Executive Producer at KXAM Radio for four years and worked for Sun Sounds Radio Reading Service, an Outreach Project of Rio Salado College that serves the Print-Handicapped.
After six months as a volunteer reader, Bruce began working the main board. He also hosted “The Theater” on Sundays at 9 p.m.
